OUGD602 Getting work experience - A small list of place's id like to be!

My main interests in design are definitely packaging, I think specifically this is something I ultimately want to do after my degree so I have had a thorough look at some possible design studio's I could contact! I've looked at both Leeds, and even other countries, as I'm big on exploring I would be up for a new and exciting atmosphere.

Analogue

Analogue is a design studio based in Leeds with  a really clear and strong focus in packaging but not limited to, I chose to look at this studio because of the variation between clients no 2 are the same, their designs are appropriated for each client as they should and look incredibly professional and well suited. Analogue has worked with clients such as Cielo Blanco, Nickelodeon, and MTV. I feel as though the work connects with me, as I am quite a playful and colourful person including in my designs.

Elmwood

Elmwood is spread all over the place, Leeds, London,New york etc etc. Elmwood is well known for its amazing food packaging and branding!

'We believe the work we do at Elmwood is world class. But some projects demand extra expertise. Where that happens, we do like Hollywood does – we assemble the best cast and crew for the job. It’s about building an ecosystem for the project to reach full potency. Usually that means working with partner agencies with specialist knowledge – as with structural packaging designers, Tin Horse. It’s what we call ‘playing well in the sandpit’. And in the case of Tin Horse, we made the partnership formal by taking a small stake in their business.' 

Robot Food

Robot food again is a packaging design team specifically food packaging, this is something I'm very keen in - i mean who doesn't loooooove food. They've done some amazing packing over the years such as Naughty Rice. I would love to work here.

WPA Pinfold

Again a Leeds based packaging and well know branding place. WPA Pinfold have a 6 month internship available every summer this could be something I could use a stepping stone to work there.  WPA are well known for many DBA awards! There design is very successful.

Big Fish

BF is based in London, not so local but they create some amazing design. One of my faves is the Dorset Cereals I think this is really initiative I think I would really enjoy working in a fast paced branding studio.

Hornall Anderson

Hornall are probably my favourite design studios based in Leeds, all the work I have see has been inpiring, effective and sophisticated. The specifically work in packaging, mainly food!

Ideally I would like to do some work placement in order to really understand packaging and see if it is definitely where i want my career to be. My next step is to get in touch!
