OUGD603 YCN - Card Development/Final

Developing my final resolution.

Using watercolour as my medium I created and developed a combination of digital and non digital outcomes. With around ten ideas for the card range I had to narrow them right down to just 4 card designs.

I chose to use the square template from the brief this is because it allowed for extra writing space which is needed when sending to a long distant friend. The inside of the card is left blank on purpose for customisation by the purchaser.

For the cards I also had to consider the envelope in which they would be sent in the envelope follows
a simple white layout with a band of watercolour. The inside of the envelope follows a galaxy type watercolour to really connect the theme.

Each of the cards feature typography inspired by Jessica Hische, the typography will be foiled in silver to really elevate the space and galactic theme.

The colour scheme for the 140x140mm cards are blacks, blues and greens. This is a reflection of the colours found and seen in outer-space.

The range is in uenced by Space, which came from the concept of ‘Galaxies Apart’ with a series of designs featuring outer space with short messages that express that their friend is still in their mind, however far away. With this scheme it makes the card designs consistent.
