After defining a refining a concept, we decided the best place to develop were our posters - we had experimented with a wide variation of layouts. We went for the most eye striking and clean design this is so the speaker is clearly noticed, we believe it is key to make sure all the information is legible so that people actually know what happening. Using a consistent layout for each poster we do - the colours will reflect the 'speaker' for example Mignola's style is dark and fantasy based we believe black or red was most representative of his style and art. This will continue for each speaker such as 'Wes Anderson' his most recent movie was the grand budapest in which pink is a key colour throughout most of his films are bright and colourful by using a bright stock to print it clearly represents who Anderson is about.
It is really important to us that these events are not a throw away culture but souvenirs and keepsakes, by using screen prints - it feels physical, tactile and not so disposable and lost forever in the digital era. We want people to remember who they saw for years to come.
