OUGD603 Up yer sleeve - Final Outcome

From my feedback I further developed my city scene, this was important to make sure it was succesfful and most representative, I originally had the design completely black and white although this still felt unfinished, I continued to work on my design before coming up with a new idea by being inspired by the song - that the whole point is that music can give a lease of life and hope, and with Goldie's passing I could use a colour which represented him of how a block in the city could be filled with his music, then slowly spreading through the city.

Why is it successful?

For my final resolution I worked on making my design in the most appropriate colour scheme. Creating a burst of colour from the bottom left moving out this is to represent the music coming from the middle of the city, spreading the much needed joy to the surrounding area - bringing the city back to life.

The choice of yellow/gold is simply inspired by the artists name (and in honour of his passing), by using the colour in the bleak atmosphere it should represent how music brings life to the city.

The use of paper cut on my design has truly represented the compacted buildings of city centre showing depth and even adding the humanising touch which is often forgot when living in a city centre. As a city can often feel cold and robotic.

Overall my visual representation of Goldie’s song really reflects the hardship and hope of someone living in a city, with pressures and struggles.
